The short answer: Bitly has a free plan and four paid tiers. Core costs $10 a month and is sold only yearly ($120). Growth is $29 a month billed yearly or $35 billed monthly, and is the first plan with a custom domain. Premium is $199 a month yearly or $300 monthly. Enterprise is priced by quote. The free plan works for trying Bitly out, but it shows ads and no click data.
All figures below come from Bitly's US pricing page, checked on 6 November 2026. Bitly shows limits by region, so the page can look different where you are.

Is Bitly free?
Yes, there is a free plan. On Bitly's US pricing page it includes 5 short links and 2 QR codes a month, 3 custom back-halves (your own ending, like bit.ly/summer-sale) and 2 landing pages, with unlimited clicks and scans. In some countries the same page lists 50 links a month.
What it doesn't include matters more:
- No click data. You can't see how many people clicked, from where or when.
- No destination changes. Once a link is made, you can't point it somewhere else.
- Ads. The plan is labelled "With Ads".
That makes the free plan a trial more than a working plan. If you need click data for free, see the options in our guide to Bitly alternatives.
Bitly Core: $10 a month, billed yearly
Core is the cheapest paid plan and is sold only as a yearly subscription, so the real cost is $120 up front.
- 100 short links and 5 QR codes a month
- 30 days of click and scan data
- The UTM builder and more QR code design options
- 5 destination changes a month
Who it suits: someone who makes a few links a week and only needs to know how they did in the last month. The 30-day window is the catch: you can't compare this month with last quarter.
Bitly Growth: $29 a month yearly, $35 monthly
Growth is the plan Bitly recommends, and the first with your own domain.
- 500 short links and 10 QR codes a month
- One custom domain included, so links can look like go.yourbrand.com/sale
- 4 months of click and scan data
- 20 destination changes a month
- Bulk creation of links and QR codes
Who it suits: a small business that wants branded links. Over a year it costs $348 billed yearly, or $420 billed monthly.
Bitly Premium: $199 a month yearly, $300 monthly
Premium is for teams running many campaigns.
- 3,000 short links and 200 QR codes a month
- 1 year of click and scan data, with city and device type detail
- Campaign-level tracking and mobile deep linking
- 110 destination changes a month
Who it suits: marketing teams with high volume. It is $2,388 a year billed yearly, or $3,600 billed monthly.
Bitly Enterprise: custom pricing
Enterprise is sold by quote. It adds custom volumes of links, QR codes and pages, several users with group permissions, single sign-on, customised onboarding, priority support and a 99.99% uptime commitment.
Who it suits: large companies that need security reviews, single sign-on and a contract.
Monthly vs yearly: how much you save
Bitly says its yearly plans save up to 34%. Here is what each plan costs over a full year:
| Plan | Paid monthly for a year | Paid yearly | Saving |
|---|---|---|---|
| Core | Not offered | $120 | – |
| Growth | $420 | $348 | $72 (17%) |
| Premium | $3,600 | $2,388 | $1,212 (34%) |
Paying yearly only makes sense if you're sure you'll use Bitly for the whole year. If you're testing, Growth's monthly price lets you leave after a month.
What every Bitly plan includes
Some things don't change between plans. Every plan, including Free, has unlimited clicks and QR code scans, so a link keeps working however popular it gets. Every plan lets you customise QR codes, and every plan includes landing pages, from 2 on Free to 20 on Premium. What changes is how many links and codes you can make each month, how long you can see their data, and how often you can change where they go.
Which Bitly plan should you choose?
- You're trying Bitly out: Free is enough to see how it works, but you won't see any clicks.
- You're a creator or freelancer making a few links a week: Core gives you click data, but only for 30 days and with 5 destination changes a month. Check whether that's enough before paying $120 up front.
- You're a small business that wants branded links: Growth is the first plan with your own domain. Pay monthly ($35) for the first month or two, then switch to yearly ($29) once you're sure.
- You're a marketing team running many campaigns: Premium gives a year of data, city and device detail and 3,000 links a month.
- You need single sign-on, security reviews or many users: Enterprise.
What the same budget buys elsewhere
Bitly's prices make more sense when you see what the same money buys from other link shorteners. These are monthly prices from each company's pricing page on 6 November 2026.
Around $10 a month:
| Plan | Price | Links | Custom domains | Click history |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Bitly Core | $10 (yearly only) | 100 a month | None | 30 days |
| TinyURL Pro | $11 ($9 yearly) | 125 a month | 3 | 2 years |
| Rebrandly Essentials | $9 ($8 yearly) | 250 a month | 2 | Not stated |
| Short.io Hobby | $5 | 2,500 in total | 7 | Not stated |
Around $20 to $35 a month:
| Plan | Price | Links | Custom domains | Click history |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Bitly Growth | $35 ($29 yearly) | 500 a month | 1 | 4 months |
| Rebrandly Professional | $27 ($22 yearly) | 1,500 a month | 3 | 6 months |
| Dub Pro | $30 ($27 yearly) | 1,000 a month | Includes a free .link domain | 1 year |
| MiniSnip Pro | $19 | Unlimited | 3 | 1 year |
Bitly's strengths are its name, its QR code and landing page tools, and its enterprise options. If you mainly need short links with click data on your own domain, the tables show you can get more for less.
How to keep your Bitly bill down
- Start monthly, then switch to yearly. Growth's monthly price lets you test it properly before committing to $348 for a year.
- Plan your destinations. Destination changes are counted, so point printed QR codes at a page you control (such as a menu page on your own site) and update that page instead of the link. Our guide to QR codes you can keep editing explains the idea.
- Use one domain for everything. Growth includes one custom domain. A short subdomain such as go.yourbrand.com works for every campaign; see how branded short links work.
- Record what you need before the window closes. On Core you only see 30 days of data, so note the numbers you want to keep each month.
- Mix tools if it helps. Nothing stops you using Bitly for some links and a cheaper tool for others. For a QR code that never needs to change, our free QR code generator needs no account.
Limits that catch people out
Pricing pages show the headline numbers. These are the ones people tend to notice later:
- Everything is per month. Links, QR codes and back-halves are monthly allowances, not totals.
- Destination changes are counted. On Core you can change where links go only 5 times a month. If you print QR codes and update menus or offers often, that runs out quickly.
- Click history is short on the cheaper plans. 30 days on Core and 4 months on Growth. Comparing a campaign with the same one last year needs Premium.
- One domain on Growth. If you run two brands, check what Premium or Enterprise includes before you commit.
- Clicks include machines. Link previews in chat apps and email security scanners open links too. Our guide to who opens your link before any person does explains why that inflates click counts.
Is Bitly worth it?
Bitly is worth paying for if you're a larger team that values a well-known vendor, enterprise features and its range of QR code and landing page tools. For individuals and small businesses, the same jobs often cost less elsewhere.
Here is what your own domain costs for a year with Bitly and with some alternatives, from each pricing page on 6 November 2026:
| Tool | Cheapest plan with your own domain | Cost for a year | Links included |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bitly | Growth, billed yearly | $348 | 500 a month |
| MiniSnip | Pro | $228 | Unlimited, with unlimited destination changes |
| TinyURL | Pro, billed yearly | $108 | 125 a month |
| Short.io | Free | $0 | 1,000 in total |
