Email link generator

Make a mailto link that opens a ready-to-send email: address, subject and message filled in. Free, no sign-up.

Sample QR code

A mailto link opens the visitor's email app with a new message already addressed:

mailto:hello@yourbrand.com?subject=Order%20question&body=Hi%2C

Everything after ? is optional. The generator adds the subject, the message, Cc and Bcc, and encodes spaces, line breaks and symbols so the email looks right in Gmail, Outlook, Apple Mail and phone apps.

Where to use it

  • "Email us" buttons on your website. Copy the HTML above and paste it into your page.
  • Email signatures, for "Reply to book a call".
  • QR codes on posters and packaging: scanning opens a new email on the phone, ready to send.
  • PDFs and slides, where a link is easier than an address to copy.

Things to know

  • The email is never sent automatically. The visitor reviews it and taps send.
  • Keep the message short. Some mail apps cut very long mailto links.
  • On a computer without an email app, a mailto link may do nothing. Show the address in plain text next to the button too.

A mailto link can't be counted, because it never touches the web. Put a MiniSnip short link in front of a page with your contact details, or of your mailto link in a QR code, and you'll see every click and scan with bots filtered out.

Frequently asked questions

Can a mailto link add an attachment?

No. The mailto format supports the address, subject, message, Cc and Bcc only.

How do I add a line break to the message?

Press Enter in the message box. The generator encodes it as %0D%0A, which every mail app reads as a new line.

Can I send to more than one person?

Yes. Separate addresses with commas in the To, Cc or Bcc fields.

Will spammers find my address in a mailto link?

They can, as with any address published on a web page. Use a dedicated contact address you can filter.
